HiTech PIC C is available for Linux, yes for the 16C74. Their new IDE, which includes a simulator, will probably also be available for Linux. I saw it at the Embedded Systems show in San Jose a couple of days ago, it looks great. It will totally do away with MPLAB for users of PIC C.
