I know this isn't a popular view there - but California isn't a country
(yet) :->  so in terms of national per capita consumption I think it's
entirely possible for NZ to top the league of space cadets; always accepting
that it's the kind of thing that is, almost by definition, impossible to
measure properly in the first place.
I daresay California beats most places on sheer quantity though.

Anyway - the BBC wouldn't lie to me. They're all fine upstanding chaps in
tailcoats and wing collars, broadcasting none but the purest of truths.
