Its just the existing Scenix techref page. I've registered a name for it like the PIC FAQ part of the piclist.com site. There isn't an active Scenix list (yet) that needs an FAQ page like the PICList does so I just pointed it to the device FAQ directly. You guys do realize that piclist.com is the PICList page on the techref right? http://techref.massmind.org The real news is that Nik and I are finishing up the translation of all the routines in the PIC FAQ into Scenix mnemonics and doing some optimization for them as well. I've been asking for some time for feedback on the idea of adding an [SX]: topic tag as well as an [AVR]: and [PARTS]: or [BUY]: tag for people looking for a part. I'd eventually like to see sxlist.com become an SX specific "view" onto the PICList with a special form to help SX people post into the PICList community including A) automatic (but optional) translation of code from Scenix to PIC mnemonics B) always adding the [SX]: tag and C) a PICList archive viewer to translate PICList posts from PIC to Scenix mnemonics and D) 500 other things. Eventually, there could be an AVRList, etc... The PICList is and will always be for PICs, but does that mean that it can only be for PICs? I think we have shown that with the topic tags it can also be a general engineering list, an off topic discussion list and a spam engine Why not also a list for other processors? And if not, I'll start a list for the SX on my own... --- James Newton (PICList Admin #3) mailto:jamesnewton@piclist.com 1-619-652-0593 PIC/PICList FAQ: http://www.piclist.com or .org -----Original Message----- From: pic microcontroller discussion list [mailto:PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU]On Behalf Of Randy Glenn Sent: Monday, September 25, 2000 13:00 To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU Subject: Re: [PIC]: Scenix chips - How compatible...? If you set the Scenix chip into "compatibility" mode. Honestly, the advantages of running the Scenix in non-compatibility mode are enough that I don't think anyone ever does this. The changes required are minor and can just about be ignored by using the Al Milliams pic macros at http://www.al-williams.com/awce/uchip.src to convert pic mnemonics to sx code. For more or less the same reasons, people pick up the low cost sx-key or other debugging devices that take advantage of the SX's unique "built in ICE" capabilities. More information is available at http://www.sxlist.com including an almost complete conversion/optimization to the SX of the PIC FAQ routine library. - --- James Newton (PICList Admin #3) mailto:jamesnewton@piclist.com 1-619-652-0593 PIC/PICList FAQ: http://www.piclist.com or .org - -----Original Message----- From: pic microcontroller discussion list [mailto:PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU]On Behalf Of Paul Sent: Sunday, September 24, 2000 11:53 To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU Subject: Re: [PIC]: Scenix chips - How compatible...? thanks for the info l will check out the software and see what its like as programmers are programmers but the software makes a difference can l run a pic program directly on a scenix chip...if compiled for scenix...source compatible ?? - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Alexey Vladimirov" To: Sent: Monday, September 25, 2000 4:32 AM Subject: [PIC]: Scenix chips - How compatible...? > 24 Sep 00, Paul Drummon writes to All: > > P> When they say that the scenix chips are compatible with the > 16c5X > P> series of pic chips does that mean l can program them with my > picstart > P> programmer or am l dreaming ? > > No, SX programming protocol is not compatible with PIC.
