Hmmm, I'm looking at a device breadbox sized or smaller, with 50+ of these actuators inside the unit - I'd rather NOT have to have a large fan to cool all these actuators! Don't want this thing melting in normal use, either 50 * 5W * 50% duty cycle = 125W dissipation, add in power supply losses and we have 200W or so of heat to get rid of. Ack I'm thinking on something really really really cheap per actuator, have some ideas but wanted to ask for other options. The model railroad point actuators might do or might be wrong - I'd like a non-binary solution, something like an 8-position or 16-position actuator would work, alternately 8-force level or 16-force level could do.
