I am throwing around a few ideas for a multi master/slave comms =
system...l am wondering if anyone could suggest the best system with =
minimal parts...

it must be able to work on fairly long lines (say 500m-1km) and be =
fairly noise proof...

l have set up a 1-wire serial system which works pretty well but l am =
wondering if it will suffice...there are some problems and the code is =
quite large...it must fit in a small 1k pic chip.

Does anyone know what distances could be expected with such a link and =
any problems l may incur...RS232 has a technical limit on distance from =
what l remember but l have achieved good comms at 9600 baud over 500m so =
l arent quite sure...my system swings from 12V to GND as to save on =
external components...basically 1 resistor and 1 diode at present...any =
input welcome please...thank you
