My spare card here has one of those neat caps that says 'gap-cap 1-2kV' and has a cut in the top to form a spark gap ;-) 10BaseT BNC is very definitely 2Vpp into 25 ohms or less (cable terminated at both ends with 50R) (I measured serveal cards). I don't think that the magnetics on a standard ethernet card are good enough for hospital grade insulation but I make an educated guess about such a thing existing already.
