Ooops, I think that line is supposed to say:

I checked a chip on my programmer. Looks like the 34 part is the
"retlw" opcode, when you read the chip - [hmmm, probably never did
oscillate at the correct freq - "bad dog"]. Sorry I don't remember
this precisely - but maybe you can hash it out now.
