I check out the app note on the vb409. I believe that the exact specs are up to 70ma on the +5 volt regulated side, and up to a 400ma "peak" on the 15 volt unregulated pin. I'm wondering if it is possible to make a positive and negative voltage off of that 15 volt unregulated side of that chip using zeners or seperate + & - 12 volt regulators? Or would I need to have two of them on board to do that? -----Original Message----- From: Howard McGinnis To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU Date: Sunday, September 17, 2000 7:03 AM Subject: Re: [EE]: 5V DC from 220V AC supply without a transformer? >ST makes a VB409 that provides, I think, 1 A at an unregulated 16 V and a >regulated 5 VDC at around 80ma from the power lines.
