Gang, After owning an ITU PIC-1 for some time I have finally gotten time to do what I was going to do. I have the manual, but no schematic and would like to get one to complete the documentation. I am using a DB-25 straight through cable and I have used a PC board with switches to switch to null modem to test some problems. Here is what I have. 1. ITU software is beta release March 9, 1997. It does not work other than giving me a missing hardware error message when run under DOS with machine at the DOS level. 2. Same message when run under DOS emulator under SuSE LINUX 6.4 on an eMachines 400i. I am interested in getting help from someone that has a PIC-1 being used under LINUX to program 16F84's. If you are the first to help me I have for you a brand new (i.e. unused Optrex DMC16230 LCD display with manual) shipped USPS air priority to your door. What software are you using if there is such for the ITU PIC-1 under LINUX using the parallel port. I also have a Microchip PICStart Plus and someone is going to get me the upgrade to 2.01.00 or later for the same exchange (I hope). This so that picp will work. If I take out the check for the version, will it still program 16F84's without the latest rev of firmware??? I have several more displays, but I'm saving those for any help I may need later. :-) I have surfed 'til I'm blue in the face and am wading through so much information like everyone else. I'm just interested in getting what I have going so that I can get a project going that I'd like to get finished before the next two weeks slip by. I do have another programmer and software on order just in case this plea does not work..... Thanks in advance for any help that I can get. I promise to be quiet. My previous post may have been missed by many as I forgot to qualify the area in the subject line. I had mentioned to the rocket people that they should look at an Air Force Cambridge Research Labs report that I did in 1968, AFRC-68-0367. The report was written for laser guided critters probably before many that are on the list were born. ;-) :-) My current interests have to do with Astrophysics and remote sensing work. ciao, Chuck Adams, K7QO Prescott, AZ -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The PICList is archived three different ways.
