Insure the content of the tape for some big amount.  That usually makes it so
they don't lose it.

8mm is a much better innate quality.  It uses Beta format (are you old enough to
remember the Beta/VHS wars?).  A copy of VHS will be worse than VHS.  If you
don't send the original, try an 8mm-8mm copy (no VHS) instead.
