Follow-up to previous announcement: In case anyone is just dying to have their PIC talk to a large amount of RAM, I have my first set of PIC40 SBC circuit boards in hand, and tested. It's a general purpose SBC for 16C74/77/877/etc, and allows interfacing to a 28- or 32-pin SRAM chip [8KB - 512KB], plus all the usual stuff - 7805, RS-232 port, two serial EEPROMs, Timer 1 RTC, ISP, etc. If you try hard, you can buffer data to the SRAM at rates to about 1 Mhz for 8-bit addressing, and 500 Khz for 16-bit addressing, when using a 20 Mhz xtal. http://www.sni.net/~oricom/sbc40.htm best regards, - Dan Michaels Oricom Technologies =================== -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The list server can filter out subtopics (like ads or off topics) for you.
