Hi S. As I recall, the title of the text is "Communications Circuits and......," either Prentice Hall or McGraw Hill. You might scan their offerings. I've done what you are looking for before but it has been some time. Source voltage drives a varacap (to ground) through a resistor. The cathode of the varacap is then connected in series with the crystal and an adjustable coil, feeding the base of a Colpitts osc. Add a buffer stage with emitter follower.
