Varitronix do two single character displays - a 2.36" (60mm) 5x7 and a 2.42" (61mm) 7x9. Both use the HD44100 driver. Although technically possible to get what you want, you'll have to sell one or more of the yachts and/or racehorses to make up a 60/80 char display. Like other LCD mftrs they offer a custom service, and may already have non-catalogue units that were built for other customers. Don't assume that what you see is what they've got, you never know what goodies are lying around in the stockroom. If you want big char displays, the most economic and obvious choice is LED. Is there a restriction on power cables or something like that ? > Hi all, > > I have recently received following request - make information displays for > a courthouse, which would display 3(4) lines of 20 characters, would be > visible from 5 meters and would be based on LCD technology.
