Hi. I need some help. I have a few questions regarding the Ademco contact id protocol and the hardware I'm planning to use. I'm using Mitel's MT8880 DTMF transceiver to dial-out and to receive touch tone commands from telephone. The Ademco contact ID protocol uses DTMF and I know the MT8880 will do ok, but I'd love to hear if anybody knows a better way or device to do the job. The only other device(s) I think may need are tone decoders for the Handshake (1400/2300) and kissoff (1400) tones generated by the call center receiver. I'm looking at using two LM567's to do this. Does anybody know of a device that will work in a dual package? I'm hoping to save some board space. It's been difficult finding technical information about the Contact ID protocol. Ademco won't give much detail. Some engineers at a national call center did point me to a page with some useful information about the basic formatting of the protocol. Any ideas or a pointer to more detailed information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone, Dave ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com -- http://www.piclist.com hint: To leave the PICList mailto:piclist-unsubscribe-request@mitvma.mit.edu
