It is not wise to leave unused pins set as unconnected (floating)
inputs.
It is easy and cheap to leave them as unconnected outputs, possibly w=
ith
a connection pad to each of them for later use if need be.
You can leave them as inputs but probably better to use pullups rathe=
r
than tie directly to a supply rail in case the TRIS state changes to =
an
output and causes a short. Plus, by removing the pullups you have
connection pads for future pin use.
