I suggest you look at any access to the SFR's in particular PCLATH and such. Make sure your inline assembly is for the new part. I believe there's an app note on upgrading from 14-bit to 17C parts. I know they have an excellent class on it for the 14-bit to 18C parts. After adding the linker files and renaming a lot of bit variables it compiles and works but will quickly hang or get lost seemingly because of interrupt problems. I had this problem with the Pic-C 1.21 years ago and the problem was because of bank switching. I am using the large memory model. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
