Most likely. There are subtle differences between the various brands. Stay away from Atmel!! They don't respond to a START condition properly all the time, and we had some 1-million-write chips fail at about 17,000 writes!!! If I have a PIC program that was written to access a Xicor 2402 EEPROM can I directly substitute a microchip 2402? My guess is yes based on (what I understood from) the data sheets but of course, I build a circuit I found, that uses an EEPROM, and it didn't work at all so I'm covering all possibilities including that it didn't like my EEPROM substitution. -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The list server can filter out subtopics (like ads or off topics) for you.
