It was originally posted by Octavio on June 22. I did try it, and it DOES go faster (about 2X), but I consistantly get an error on the first byte programmed. The rest of the chip programs fine... I'm kind of surprised that I haven't seen any discussion on this upgrade. ----- Begin Original Message From Octavio ----- -As any MPLAB ICD user, I also think the ICD -programming time is to high. -If your code is over 4K, it takes 'hours' to -download it. -I developed two new firmware for it, the Fast -and the Turbo mode. -If you want to try, you must have Ver 2.04 -or higher. Make a backup of your MPL876p.OBJ in -MPLAB directory, download one of this files below, -unzip it and copy to your MPLAB directory. -Then run MPLAB,open ICD and upgrade your firmware. -If you have any problem, just restore your old -MPL876p.OBJ file and upload it to ICD module. -http://www.propic2.com/files/fast.zip -http://www.propic2.com/files/turbo.zip -I'd like to hear feedback. -This is a third part firmware and is not -associated with Microchip. - -Friendly Regards - -Octavio Nogueira -- Phillip M.
