Hello, I've very much enjoyed this list in the past and have used it very much to answer many of my questions. I have one now that I haven't been able to solve yet. I'm trying to port code from a 16f84-10 to a 16c622a/jw for more RAM. I've taken the appropriate porting precautions for the 622a. The problem is that the oscillators won't start up when I use the 622a. For the equivalent program on the f84 the oscillators work like a charm. I've tried a 10MHz ceramic resonator and a 4MHz crystal (with 2 22pF caps). I've tried compiling with both XC and HS (from a previous post). I've tried on a bread board and a soldered board. I admit that I'm not quite sure how oscillators work but I've read as much as I can and can't understand what is happening here. Could there be a setting on the 622a that I'm missing? Here is my config line: __CONFIG _CP_OFF & _WDT_OFF & _HS(or XC)_OSC & _PWRTE_ON Thanks in advance for your consideration! m -- Mauricio Bustos ...on the road to Burning Man 2000 __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
