Both caps are in series from the circuit's point of view. >Also, I was wondering how sensitive/accurate the timing would >be relative to the trimmer cap value changing with temperature >variations. Proportional, relatively linear. Temperature compensation is a whole 'nother project. The xtal has it's own curve, and you should try to negate that with the curves of the caps. That's the short version anyway. The chip also plays in this, at least as far as it's input C varies over temperature. -- www.SpamWhack.com A pre-emptive strike against spam Where's dave? http://www.findu.com/cgi-bin/find.cgi?kc6ete-9 My transistor sings with unintended parasitic the smoke escapes By Jeff Stout -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The list server can filter out subtopics (like ads or off topics) for you.
