This is exactly what we did during our marine research days
 ( exact same solder and coating) and salt water contamination
never got the boards, just everything else if the seal broke (lovely
blue, green and black power everywhere that used to be metal
parts) BUT the board was good!

Later we used complete encasement in beeswax , it helped alot.
