It's pin 15 & 12 for in and out (but I can't remember which is which), also you need to access pin 1 & (I think) 9 for power because the SB I/O is at TTL and needs to be converted to/from 5mA current loop. (uses a $1 buffer chip for out/through and a transistor assisted opto isolator for in). Have a look at the midi news groups for pointers to complete solutions. Midi cables use pins 4 & 5 straight through (pin 4 to pin 4, pin 5 to pin 5) with the shielding from ONE END ONLY on the shell.
