I've noticed that the Eutectic Water-Clean solder I use sure doesn't wick onto pre-tinned PCB traces as well as rosin core, when hand soldering, in my experience; If you have a 0.05" x 0.15" or so DIL pad, you do get the middle of the pad filled with solder & a good solid connection, the end result looks different at first - you have to get used to it! Good solid connection, of course.
