Yeah, more information on _why_ one would want to use this chip ... how
is it driven, that sort of thing.  Can it drive a telephone line or a
modem without having to dial-up to establish a PPP connection?

My mountain weather station needs a telemetry link down to me, 15km
away.  Still haven't found anything practical and cheap.  There's a lot
of fence wire around though, which could be a good start.
