I know nothing about the NE1000's whereabouts, but check out Realtek in
Taiwan for the RTL8019(AS) and friends. It's an extremely popular NE2000
clone with internal RAM and other goodies. Most $14 network cards use this
afaik ;-) ? I have some plans for this chip myself... I think it has a 16
bit data bus I/F but for me this is ok.
