Robert, The digitally reversed image is a good idea and would do the trick and we will consider that option if we cannot find a suitable off-the-shelf IC to do this. Then we add the text after. This saves cost on the monitor. We are using a colour LCD monitor that comes with mirror function built in. The application is in a vehicle and the driver can change between mirror and normal view at the flick of a button. We already have these going but now want to add text as cheaply as we can but not involving too much development time also. It seems the NEC6566 may actually do what we want but their doc is not that clear to us. It has Vrgb, Vc1 and Vc2 outputs. I assume that Vc1 and Vc2 are both colour composite outputs.
