Well, by pulsing you could mean a lot of things.  Let's say you have a slow
pulse that lasts 10 seconds.  Do you want the output to be the same as the input
then?  Or just for very short pulses (less than a second) ?

The word 'pulse' leaves the intent wide open.  What are you really trying to do
here?  What is the application?
