If you add a 40 pin ZIF Aries socket from http://www.jameco.com/ for $14, the total cost is about $40 with shipping from both places, and you can program most 8, 18, 28 and 40 pin PIC chips. Just try off the LVP fuse before trying to program it. The Dobaj software is available from the internet (instructions included with programmer). It costs an additional $30. Don Electronics also sells these parts. He ships from Australia to anywhere in the world at reasonable cost.
