Yes, they work correctly.

I suggest you start with a 16C54 and 24LC01 and make THAT work.  Then you just
drop the code into the 12CE part and you should be in business.

It's easiest if you use the RA ports on the 16C54 which correspond to the GPIO
ports in the 12CE
