I have seen several bits of SX code that obviously came from MPLAB. Its easy to define macros for the extra SX instructions. In fact, you could define macros to allow the use of the Parallax menomics in MPLAB. (If anyone has some available, please let me know so I can post them on the piclist.com page) I happen to think that Scenix is killing itself by accentuating the differences between the SX and PIC rather than the simularities. The SX is a pin for pin, hardware and software replacement (that happens to run at 50 MIPS) and supports cheap ISP and ICD. I'd love to see MPLAB to SX support in a programmer. Any SX users that have done this sort of thing have a rare opportunity to speak up and at least see more support for the chip or maybe end up with a nice tool for migrating to the SX. --- James Newton mailto:jamesnewton@geocities.com 1-619-652-0593 -----Original Message----- From: pic microcontroller discussion list [mailto:PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU]On Behalf Of Jim Robertson Sent: Thursday, May 11, 2000 22:31 To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU Subject: MPLAB and Scenix chips? Anyone using MPLAB with the scenix chips? Would MPLAB compatibility be an advantage for a scenix SX programmer? Thanks for any feed back on this.
