We use a Fire 9000 laser plotter, 1/8th mil or 8000 dpi or 0.000125". (not a laser printer) We produce film for PCB houses. Our film registration is 0.0005" positional accuracy. (actually better than that) The film is Silver based graphic film. (no toner is used) We develop the film. By the way, if you can run a x,y test print and give us the skew amounts, we could modify your Gerbers to compensate for the skew, that is if it is repeatable and linear. Our film is very opaque, and we can produce positives or negatives. Let me know if I can help.
