David, Others, I want to run Linux on a PIC because of some inspiring work I saw on this page. It is actually a port of Linux called uClinux. No mmu needed(?). Seems I may be able to do this, we will see. More research needed... http://www.uclinux.org/ (Hmmm looks like an inspiration from the DonTronics board) A whole system linked by 30 pin sockets. A hard drive/Flash Memory card already has the logic as far as I can tell from what IDE specs. If I had uClinux running I could then control many HDDs or Flash cards(lottsa music!) I would assume fairly easily. I could also use it as a dash board computer to interface with other neat ideas sure to follow! (interface with OBD, LCD, etc.) :) I am not familiar with what it takes to run and IDE drive as far as commands go. So If anyone has this or can lead me in the right direction... But I am glad I amused you so! I like to make people happy! :) Best regards, Allen
