That was a Dilbert line that I failed to quote properly. Perhaps a little to anxious to use it. I enjoy c++. The object oriented nature of the language just plain makes sense to me. No doubt vc++ has similiar attributes, however I generally smite languages that aren't portable. Except of course Pic Assembly! Nope, I was just horsing around. If vc++ works well, then that is probably the best for you. No doubt your position likes to have one language here and now that gets you where you want to go. One simply can't learn and use every new language that comes along. On the other hand, Java has many embedded control applications and also seems well suited for data gathering. It is very similiar to c++ but does not allow pointer math.
