Russell and others, >Sounds interesting. I'll be interested to hear more. If this thread >continues much longer than a better heading would help attract others who >may be interested. I only found it because it was the only new PICList I am pretty interested in this combination of technologies, my last commercial project was a 4 channel, 16C71 logger in a cylindrical case approx 110 mm x 20 mm for logging temp and press (8 bit res) in cow and sheep stomachs. The initial stage is a self contained logger for use in research beasts with "portholes", dont know the technical name. Logs at 8 HZ but only stores data if delta pressure exceeds a certain value or at a presetable background time. This conserves memory which is 1 to 8 256 k bit 8 pin microchip devices. It also conserves transmission power to download data from the next version, rf telemetered, which the customer has not proceeded with. My wife has been in hospital for major surgery and for the last week I have spent a lot of time seeing where simple temp, heart rate and blood pressure telemetry could save staff resources. (While wife sleeps I have been converting above loggers asm to Hi-Tech C :-)). At the educational establishment where I spent most of my paying time I am involved in work on monitoring mainly aircraft structures, for this work a PIC based analysis system, autonomus power generation and telemetry would combine into a very useful item. I look at the Seiko "Kinetic" watch as a good example of the integration of the processor and power source technology, add telemetry and you have a handy little device. I too am interested in this thread and only noticed it in similiar circumstances to Russell. Cheers Glen
