Hi all,
Ok this is a bit OT but related to a PIC project. I
have a circuit, using a 16c74 that generates a code string on activation of a
series of inputs. Next I now want to send this string to a PC, but not through
an RS232 but using an IR link. I've got the PIC side of it working fine so now
comes the PC.
On the PC I have enabled the IrDa port and loaded
the Microsoft drivers so all I need now is the IR adapter to plug into the
board. Sounds simple? Have spent the last week trying to get hold of said unit
for a Giga-byte board without success. So I figure its only a matter of a IR tx
and rx LED's with suitable current limiting resistors, why not build it myself.
The header is 5 pin, VCC +5v, NC, IR data Input, GND, IR data output. Thing is,
as I cant even find any other data on the port, and I'd rather not fry this
board and the Athlon on it, does anyone know of an existing circuit diagram for
this adapter. Or pin details i.e. are the IR data lines current source or
sink?
Any help on this would be most
welcome.
TIA,
Philip Martin.
