Please need some help.

Found I had this virus in my autoexec.bat file and the kak.??? files on my hard
drive.  Corrected these.  Did not find entries in my registry.  Does that mean
that I haven't rebooted since receiving the virus?  That tells me I received it
the same day I found it.

I forwarded the email from "Giles" dated 4/22/00 1AM to many in my address list
warning them of the virus and how to correct it.  On the same day Friend "A"
received the forwarded message, I found it in the same places but not in the
registry.  Does that mean I sent A the virus?  Two others report not getting
virus from that message but I'm not 100% sure if their systems are equivalent
(OS/mail reader/anti-virus software).

Is there a way to determine if the email I sent had the virus?  How can I be
sure I'm not sending the virus to others?  I've followed the directions, didn't
find it in my registry and have applied the Microsoft patch.
