Hi, unfortunately, they have obviously ceased the DOS version of programmer. That's why I abandoned, and now I'm using B. Dobaj's programmer. It fits all my needs (to program the 16C5x series I still use the old Parallax programmer with that DOS software). I have a PicStart+, though, but I can not use as I definitely do not need all the fancy stuff with icons and frames from M$ and Microchip did not recognize the DOS support would be fine. It is to mention, that Cosmodog also offers a driver software for PicStart+, running under Linux. My problem is, however, that the higher-level compilers I use (CCS and PicBasic Pro) aint't native Linux ones. So I develop under DOS (Caldera Open DOS 7.03) and I enjoy the speed and reliability. My field PC (I confess it is only aux.) is a 486DX33 with 4MB RAM and 120 MB HDD and it does all what I need. No blue death, no macro viruses, no indefinitely deep menus, no clicks after clicks, ... and no BSA!
