There are SSR's designed for DC outputs.  They use FET's instead of SCR's
and TRIAC's.  Digi-Key stocks many selections from numerous
manufacturers.

As far as switching at 20 kHz, I think you're going to have lots of
trouble, but try contacting the manufacturers.
