I *hate* VB, but that doesn't mean that it has no real world usefulness. In the IS world, VB is the defacto standard for Client-Server database access. I personally worked on two such systems, one for a large telecommunications company in the midwest, and another for a world-wide consulting firm. I hated it, but I have to admit it got the job done.
