If she was acting as an official spokeswoman, and appeared to be, then it seems to be accepted at NASA that resources are being spread too thinly, at least for those Mars missions. She did specifically say that equipment was made too cheaply and corners were cut to save time (what's the rush ? where's Mars going ?). Surprisingly frank hands-up admissions I thought.
