Hi I use PBP and is a nice soft. But Microchip has now chips with C-compiler efficient instruction set. I know only basic. Seems is time to begin slowly to learn C that I avoided for years. I search for PIC C compilers and found many with hotbot.com . The ideal compiler for my use would be : - a well documented one (to learn C with pleasure and the compiler at the same time) , - should work for several chips ( not all of course) but including the 8 pin ones ( from 61 to 84 seems short) - should have direct functions (?) to acess the ADC with 10 and 12 bit, RS232, I2C, SPI for serial ADCs and DACs - work with ease with 16 bit timers and accept 24 bit variables . Of course, ... should be not too expensive and have a demo for test before buy. Have I missed it ? Thanks for your comments. Fernando Teixeira
