Several opportunities I found electronic boards from printers, monitors, machinery in general, used by rats and roaches as home-sweet-home, or as their preffered bathroom. I believe that de deionized water should be the best, but I always used plain tap water with lots of detergent and regular soft brush to wash it all, lots of water to remove the foam, then a nice air dryer (lots of air flow) to remove all the hidden water drops in between the components.
