I have a copy of the datasheet for the (venerable) SP0256 speech processor, but I need more information. I'm trying to simulate the (non-allophone) chip in a DOS/Windows environment, and I need the format of the sound data that an external speech ROM would send to it. From what I can gather, the data is grouped into frames, where each frame contains 17 bytes, for the 17 internal registers in the chip. What I don't know are what the registers are and the data format. I've looked at the datasheet and application notes for the older chip, the SP0250, but that chip had only 15 registers so the data format must be somewhat different. Does anyone have an applications guide for the SP0256 (or any other document) that has this data format? Thanks in advance. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
