It seems the PIC's are rugged little chaps after all. There's a bit of battery acid splashed here and there, so I would envisage a total rebuild just in case. The crystal is now sporting a nice head of fuzzy stuff and could do with a trim. Considering these boards were all prototypes, hand made and have heaps of mods patched all over the back of them, they didn't do too bad.
