Is it feasible to use an eight digit LCD from an inexpensive calculator ($2
Aus) as a display for a PIC16F87X?  The "Sweda brand" calculator I have in
front of me has 27 contacts to the display and the IC is covered with a drop
of polymer.  Is it common for these devices to have a driver IC or can code
replace the need for a driver IC?
