I saw on one website warnings that using PICs in breadboards may cause the chips
to be destroyed via their osc circuitry.  I can't remember where I saw it, but
has anyone experienced device failure on a breadboard which couldn't be
explained by anything other than the board itself?  I'm wondering if there is
anything to this warning.

The warning seems very suspicious, it was on a commercial site (someone who
sells pre-programmed pics for a variety of uses).  It makes me wonder whether
they just don't want to do tech support for those who use breadboards...
