Regarding "perfect compliment for PIC/ISD sound system". I am trying to get a PIC 16c84 to control and ISD 4003 and I'm not having much luck. Have you done this. Can you provide any code/ schematics.

This looks the business. Minimal external components, 0.7uA shutdown,
675mW @ 1% THD into 8 ohms, 2.7 - 5.5V. Be definitely looking for these.
