Does anybody know how to use the signal on a SCART connector to switch a TV to use that SCART as video source?

The only info I've found is somewhat sketchy. Pin 8 seems to be the one to use, info I've found suggests that 0-2v on this pin is TV mode and 9.5-12V AV input. There is also some mention of widescreen selection as well using this pin.

Has anyone found a good source of technical info on SCART's or experience of driving this pin?

And yes I will be using a PIC of course!
