There are notes around the internet on their use.

Hello fellow picsters. Sorry for this offtopic post, but I am really in need
of some Infrared transcievers. I'll only be buying 10 pieces at most, but
would like to recieve them fairly soon so I can begin my experimenting. If
anyone knows of a good source please let me know. I have checked all the
usual distributers like digikey, jameco, pioneer.
