Hi, As to the data sheets, I had a headache with the Hitachi part because Hitachi's own datasheet was incorrect. I assume it has been corrected now......It was to do with the "display off" in 4 bit mode.........(I hate it when the datasheet is wrong). I have attached a stripped down version of something I wrote to familiarize myself with the display operating in 4 bit mode. It is passionately brain dead code (we write in C for real projects). It was developed for a display using the KS0066U. You can find the datasheet for that at http://www.usa.samsungsemi.com/products/summary/charlcd/KS0066U.htm or reference the Hitachi datasheet for the HD44780 at http://semiconductor.hitachi.com/products/product_abstract.cfm?p_id=36 I would recommend reading these if you are reading the LCD manufacturer's data sheets. -d Content-type: application/octet-stream; name="4bitlcd.asm" Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="4bitlcd.asm" Attachment converted: birth:4bitlcd.asm 1 (????/----) (00007EAD)
